One thing you might try is a Permatex product called "The Right Stuff". It is a great gasket maker and it will set without a long waiting period, so you can drive right away. So if a flat tire, carry a can in the trunk, pull the wheel and change it, use this product and be on your way. Great for valve covers on older cars where you might have a little pitting, etc...
