Re: [BaadAssGremlins] Gremlin wheelbase and width

I built a trailer for my Gremlin and it was 12 feet long [the runners] and 84 inches wide[to outside of trailer] I built it for a total cost of $200 plus some labor trade. I paid $112 for 2 12 foot long light gauge I beam at the local scrap yard ,it was 12 inches widex 6 inches high and traded a primer spray for two axles with wheels and tires and one had brakes on it.I notched the bottom of both runners and welded the axles directly to the runners.then bought 50 foot of new  4 inch angle from a buddy who works at a steel works for $ 50 and welded two 10 foot sections together to make a box tube for the tongue.Welded one angle to front of runners and tongue to front axle and cross piece. made ramps out of a mobile home tongue.only thing I bought new was a light kit for $20. Used it for several years and it pulled great up to 90 mph with my Gremmie on it! My son-in law still has it and hauls his Mustang on it.Never a minutes trouble.

I jiust found my answer, the wheel base of a Gremlin
is 8' and the overall lenght is 13' 5" and the width
of 5' 8". So it will fit with room to spare. I can
get new axles for around $100.00 each, so I should be
able to complete it for less than $500.
