did you dial the cam in?i installed an aftermarket cam 1 time and the 
car was a doggy off the line, went thru different scenerios,called the 
cam company (lunati)and that was the first question they asked,well i 
dialed the cam and it needed 4 degrees advance,i never put a cam in 
without dialing the cam anymore,sometimes when they grind the cam they 
machine the cam with advance or retard already in but to be 100 percent 
sure id degree the cam,  just my opinion
