Tim, It is pretty simple to remove the trim (it pops off gently) and then you can either do a shade tree job( silicone around the existing windshield goop) or you could get some steel guitar string(or a windshield tool) and cut the glass out(on a warm day), clean it and then reseal it. This works much easier with a friend to help or to blame if things go wrong. I am not an experienced mechanic a but have stopped leaks in my 74 Gremmie, my 68 Jav and my 81 Spirit both ways depending on the time I had. I know others will have even better advise.
