I agree, and too bad AMC didn't offer a hatchback from 73-75
perhaps with a package like this, whether 304 or 360! I have never understood
why the 77 and 78 AMXs were offered with a V8 304, but not a 3 or 4 speed in
them. The ads for the 77 were 'float like a butterfly, sting like a bee' but you
could fill me full of chili cheese nachos with extra jalapenos and onions and
sour cream and a pitcher of Shiner Bock and I could outrun a 77 AMX 304/AT back
then. Might still be able to do it now, but would need some backup of Tums and
Imodium AD!
