[BaadAssGremlins] another update

Well last weekend I was set to install my tranny and go from there.
I Saturday i took it to th etranny shop to be positive that I had
the converter all the way in. Tranny shop confirmed what I already
knoew it was in correctly. (Some times I need a sanity check) So
back home and then took my son out for a day at the park. It was 709
degrees out! We fed the ducks and then he played on the swing and
then the slide. We were leaving and he said he wanted to go shopping
at walmart and look for cars! So off we went. Found a nice BBG
javelin. bought him Leak Less from CARS movie. I got some Camo
clothes for 80% off.
anyway that was saturday. Sunday I went out to put the tranny in. I
got it up and 2 bolts in on the left then one bolt on the right side
and it was clear it wasn't going to go. It was binding on the
converter to flexplate. Just then Bill called and I explained. He
came over and said he remembered having to cut 3/8" off the front
tranny shaft. So we took it back out and I checked. Yup the
converter was bottoming out on the shaft. So out came the cutoff
wheel. I cut the needed 3/8 and rechecked. Not hitting anymore. Then
did some more measuring. It was still not enough. The converter
was .670" below the face of the tranny. But the new Mondello
flexplate was .870 out from the face of the block. So almost 1/4"
interferance. Then i took the flexplate off. i compared it to the
factory one. The Mondello didn't have the offset in it. It was flat.
SO I had to wait till Monday to call Mondello( remember it took em 5
weeks to drill the converter holes in it for me back in Nov.
So I decided to figure out how I was going to rerout my engine wire
harness. I want the engine bay as clean as possible. I relocated it
to run under the left fender. I got that re routed but will have to
take it back out later for re wraping it.
So Monday after work I talked to Mondello. Turns out they made me a
flexplate for a th400 not my 727! SO they will be making me a new
billit flexplate this week. Tues Bill mailed em back their FP with a
factory 401 FP. SO again I have to wait. I was hoping to have he
running thes weekend!.
O well I still have to get the battery wired up. For that I need to
get some welding ground cable mabe tomorrow after work.
Sorry for the long wind in my post LOL
It is getting cold up here too. 24deg F out tonight.
Hope everyone is well and warm tonight
