| Neat little car. Not sure about California law,
however here in Texas, when a car impounded, the lot first has to send out
registered letter to last known owner (LKO). After one month, the car goes to
auctions, sometimes dealers only, sometimes open to public. Warning, note that
the time it sits in the storage lot it is $30-$50 a day. So if it sits there for
say, 45 days, at $50 a day, you are looking at  $2250. Not counting the
wrecker fees for initial towing, here it is $115. So now up to over $2300 and I
guarantee you the lot will try to make a majority of that back or sell it to a
wholesaler lot. Note you think shilling is bad on ebay, try live auctions,
oldest trick in book, many plants in the crowd there for nothing more that to
bid up vehicles. Title: again, not sure about California, but here
you would be looking at salvage title. I would rather have root canal than go
thru endless series of hearings at county court downtown for months trying to
get clear salvage title. Some will give blue titles. Some will make a authentic
Texas title on the premise, complete with notary for you at extra cost, that is
way to go. Some have storage title, so you might want to find out what type it
would have and whether it will be good in your state. No, Broadway Title is good
for many states but some states will not honor them. So you might end up with a
car you would somehow have to re-VIN (I have done dozens of them) or a car you
can't get damned tags for because of CA law, or your state law. It's nice and valiant to try to want to save a car
like this and who would not, myself included, hell only 865 made and less than
90 known to exist. Regardless, as a veteran of hundreds of auctions locally and
in Texas and surrounding states and ex repo man, I know a little about the sheer
bull shit you have to sometimes go thru to get a title. If you can at all. But
as I have said since 1980s....no title....no problemo!!!! Hope someone is able to save this little booger.
