The 327 was introduced a full six years before Chevrolet had similiar cubes. 
Apples and oranges, if you put a Nash/Rambler/Hudson/AMC 327 side by side 
with GM type. Same deal with Ford 390 and AMC 390. Same deal with Buick 401 
and AMC 401. Same deal with Mopar 360 and AMC 360s, all different, the list 
is endless. Somewhere on John Rosa's site (where the hell is he, married 
life got him tied up?) there is a big file about the difference, but some 
folks yuh just can't lurn as they know all the answers from the 50s/60s.
