Charlie the 4 way flashers are wired to work even with the ignition off. You may just have found that you have a bad turn signal switch. Brake light problems also can be attributed to a bad turn signal switch as they go through the turn signal switch. Love the GM Saginaw steering column's AMC used in the 70's. Parts from the cookie cutter GM cars fit our's too and are an over the counter part. :-) "Doc ------------------------ Yahoo! When your key is off your turn signal circuit should be dead at the fuse box. Just wondering how did you figure that one out anyway? Hope someone can help you on this one. It is interesting.TerryTo identify the culprit circuit, I used a trick my dad taught me - I pulled the positive wire from the battery and wired a small 12 volt bulb between the positive battery post and the positive wire. With the ignition off, the bulb should not light under normal conditions. Mine lights bright, meaning I have a drain on the battery. I went to the fuse block and cut the power to each circuit individually until the bulb went out. When I pulled the turn signal lead from the fuse panel, the bulb went off. Go figure. My dad is an ace at this stuff, but he is not well and all of my help so far has been over the phone. Interesting, to be sure. Has me completely baffled.Charlie "Grublin X"
