I wouldn't go that far. The 304 is a good motor but no where near the HP potential of the 360 and 401

I actually had one guy who owns a 340 Duster comment that the AMC 304 was a great little motor. Once I get the rear gears changed and cam in, I bet I could keep up with the best of them and proably beat most.
