i justed wanted everyone to know that yes i have found a very cool amc for a good price and in really good shape. what i need to know is what types of upgrades can i do to and stuff and if there are parts that anyone has for sale that i could use. the car $1000 1966 amc rambler american 220 4 door(thats what the bagers say) str 6. 3 on the tree manual drums no power sterring. body is in very good shape. it needs a good tune up and brakes need work since it has been sitting for some time. what i want to know is car craft magazine is doing a biuld up on a 68 amercain. i want to know if the cars are mostly the same so i can up grade front drums to disc and put some type of better gears and possie or weld a rear end for it for what i am going to use the car for. what type of upgrades can i do to that str 6 to get some more torqu and or ponys in it. i want to keep and drive line since i have seen and heard that you can have some good power out of the amc str 6. and the other thing i am doing if looking to halp it handel also. i am not building it for just str line like car craft(but i am going to borrow some thing they are doing with there car though) I dont know which issue its in, but they did a v-8 swap and other upgrades and they but have dark bleu car and a flat black hood with a 66 dodge hood scoop and the stock liiking dogdish hub caps and tiers and it looks very cool and very sleeper though. this car is being biult for grassroots motor sports $2006 challange in oct. buy, biuld and race a car for $2006 in drags, autocross, and concorse judgeing. i will post some pics of this thing after i get it later this week. jason Yahoo!
