Re: [BaadAssGremlins] Gremlin X seats....

Good luck finding a useable interior from a gremmie. Another thought is to replace only the panels that are bad. Also remember I'm in Det. and prices for that stuff are high here. Just bought a 1950 Dodge from Pa. and the seller said he pays 150 to re -chrome a bumper and that can cost 300 here.    Paul

Don't know if I am happy to hear that or not Paul. I need my bench seat redone
but I don't know if I really want to lay out $500 for it. As soon as it gets
warm enough to take it out I am going to get some estimates for mine. After
that guy got his whole like new interior for his Mustang for a $100 at a junk
yard I might have to go that route. I know it wouldn't be as nice as the
original but besides an AMC guy nobody would really know especially if you got
high backs. I though about putting in a couple out of my Van but they don't
lean forward and that would be a pain to get into the back. I will just have
to see.

Hello Bill. I just got a price in Mi. to have my bench with split back done for 450 to 550 sight unseen. That includes the material he said he could probably match.  Paul in Det.

Bill it cost me 500$ to have the 2 buckets done in my yellow Hornet 2
months ago. The drivers seat was real bad like the one you described.
Any competent upholstery shop should be able to repair yours. On the
500$ price you have to figure that's it is the Metro N.Y. area  too
where prices are generally higher than the rest of the country. I also
supplied the stock factory seat insert material.

I got a pair of seats the other day from a 73 Gremlin X. The Volvo
buckets are on their way to the big dumpster in the sky! FINALLY!
GREMLIN SEATS FOR A GREMLIN! AMAGINE THAT! LOL! I knew before I bought
them that they would need to be reappolsterd. The drivers seat has me
kind of concerned. The seat springs are pretty much shot all to heck.
What will work in place of them? Would a good appolsterer beable to re-
work them so that they will work properly? Keep my fat butt from
bouncing off the floor. It looks like to me that the springs are part
of the foam, but I know that cant be right. I believe that the springs
(or wires) have worked its way into the foam. Has anyone here had a
pair of seats re-done and if you have could you give me a price range
of what it is going to cost? I am not to concerned about "factory" type
of material. The car is far from being an original so I am not worried
about that. I know that its not going to be cheap, but ya get what ya
pay for thats for shure. I appreciate any comments and comebacks on
this. Bill Id.
