[BaadAssGremlins] !@#$%^& Manuls Choke Still Don't Work Properly

I am just frustrated that such a small minor  part I cannot get to work
properly after modifying cars and god knows what for over 40 years. I am
at a loss on somthing so minor . I need to look at it with a clear head
again tomorrow. I have a thought about a return spring and have picked
up an assortment of carb return springs at the local auto parts store
late this afternoon. Me and the shop owner are at a loss as to why the
choke works fine for 3-4 times and then doesn't?
