Good call Doc. Yup, whoever it is fooling with mice shit be careful. There was a outbreak in New Mexico years ago that killed a number of people.
So my suggestion if mice been using the old AMC as a Skid-O-Can is to go to Dollar Store and pick up some rubber gloves, and maybe a cheap paint facemask, both also available at Home Depot. But worth it when dealing with stuff like that which can indeed kill you. Here is something about hanta virus:

UREKA. You were right Jim the seat came out the way you said. . I hate to say this in case Charles is listening but, I forgot I had bought a 1974 AMC service manual. DOH.
