Rick I wish I had a bead blaster, and one the grill would fit into too. Doing all the prep work buy hand is going to be just as if not more time consuming than doing the 2 sill plates. I got about 4 hours into one headlight door to have it ready for starting to paint. I made a wooden jig to screw the headlight door to to paint it this afternoon out of 1"X1" wooden balister and another piece of 1/2"X1" screwed and glued 4 pieces of them together so I can screw the head light door to it. I will have to modify it to use on the other side. If I remember correctly you have the same late 74-77 Hornet grill on you Gremlin so you know the amount of work that needs to be done. I still have till June 4th for the first official showing of the car. I still have the rear window louver to paint to match the car and all the 77 AMX flairs to strip and paint too. :-( The bead blaster seems like it would work on the flairs. I have to chemically strip them with a plastic bumper stripper as they were previously painted with Dupont Centari acrylic enamel without the flex additive. I have extras so I already made a test to see if it will work without damaging the flairs. The rear widow louver has been soda blasted and is sitting in the back of my garage waiting to be sanded and prepped for paint. Before I install the louver I have to fix a dent in the hatch and paint that too, it never ends. But my doctor's say's this is good exercise for me and therapy too!!! :-) "Doc" Yahoo!
