Hi Paul, well, yes and no. While the auction shows
most of the activity was in the last three hours, there were dozens of
'watchers' something you can do by going into the 'my ebay' and 'watch a item'.
Sometimes people will drop the most they think it is worth early on, others like
to sit back, then wait to see what others will or won't do.
A lot of people wait until the last day to bid,
something ebay also mentions to sellers. As for stopping a auction early, there
are pros andf cons on that. Bad is in this case, the seller could have taken
Davis(?) money at $200 but screwed himself out of $610 more others werre willing
to pay. Don't fault anyone for email the sellers directly either, as i do it all
the time. However I will not stop a auction, simply for that reason, as I got
screwed on a Bakelite spacer I sold to a well known collector for $20, and they
other one another seller had shot up to $180, so I screwed myself $160 by
stopping early. No guarantee mine would have sold for that much, but I stopped
the auction 3 days early.
Pros: you have a legit offer. This however as
mentioned in this thread might be well less than what someone else will pay for
it. I know a well known AMCer who dumps his shit on ebay, then with a day...or
less....to go, he stops auction. Then he emails those who bid on it off ebay
whereas he usually sells it to someone who was close, or highest bidder at time.
No 'final value fees' either, interesting
concept.

As far as I know, this
is a complete kit to convert your early 70's Gremlin or Hornet
over to air conditioning. The whole thing has been in my
basement since it arrived in 1973. I'd call it "brand new,
still in the box" except the huge box it came in finally fell
apart after being moved from one place to another. Many of the
parts included are still in their individual boxes as
originally received. (I opened a few to photograph them.)So,
it's all here, and just in time for you to have your baby made
over from a cool car, to a COOL car in time for the
summer!Included are the under-dashboard unit that dispenses
the cooling air - looking brand spanking new! Also, the
condenser coils, York compressor, ElectroLock magnetic clutch,
and all the hoses, belts, clamps, mounting brackets, nuts and
bolts that you will need to complete this project. Plus - the
original instructions for installing all this in your AMC!
(You might need that!)I am not a mechanic, or an AMC owner, so
I have no use for all this. I want it out of my basement, but
I would love for it to go to someone who could use it. My
reserve price is the starting price, so please, someone, grab
it! I will warn you, though, that it will be expensive to ship
- some of these pieces are heavy! I am willing to meet anyone
in the Connecticut/Rhode Island area to drop it off, or you
