More
likely than not, the car was donated to the school. Your best bet is to
contact the person directly in charge of the car's fate- perhaps an
autoshop
teacher or some such person. If he/she still holds the title for the
car, and is
willing to work a 'back door' deal, your only hope is to trade another
more
derelict vehicle for them to play with. I doubt they will risk the
legal issues of
selling the car...the ol' can of worms stuff- a donor's gift sold?
Assuming a
risk
when the buyer blames the school for some perceived defect in the
car...
the
lawyers have the world all twisted up so as to really complicate this kind
of
thing.
I
fear nothing will save the car. You'll need somebody who knows somebody
to
get in the ear of the person that can make the call. And then, they'll need
a
replacement car for the big event. If you can't arrange both- that Eagle is
dead
meat.
