| Eh, that is for 'handling'. Shipping that shirt is
$3.95 period. I shipped hundreds of aMC National shirts the past several years,
leftover from the 2001 AMO AMC nationals we did in 2001. Even to canada it was
still $3.95 unless sent parcel post, then cheaper, but Priority Mail is $3.95.
Sorry, sold out this year of them.....finally.    This was brougth up awhile back also, as I was
going to bid on a really nice 72 Ambassador grill on ebay listed in Boston, MA.
Warning, always read the fine print on ebay, as many people do NOT, repeat, do
NOT list shipping in thier auctions.    This is a "open checkbook syndrome" also and a red
flag to possible buyers. On the grill, I emailed the seller off auction and they
replied they wanted $125 to ship it to Houston. For $125 it damned well better
have the rest of the Ambassador attached to it. I politely replied that I have
shipped grills since the 80s and even metal ones, like that are seldom above $30
to box and ship. I passed, they relisted and changed the listing including $50
for 'shipping and handling'.    Handling. That sounds like something out of
Neverland Ranch. I understand this concept if you are lazy or incapacitated and
CAN'T box your own shit. So you take it to UPS Store and THEY box it up for you,
therefore incurring more fees to pass on to buyer. That is different. Or
sometimes you have people who ain't familiar with shipping things and don't want
to bother with it, and they will add those costs for 'handling' as a middleman
place like mentioned above will do it. Again, the buyer pays the extra, not a
bad deal if bulky items like seats, hood, fenders or sheetmetal, bad if
something like tshirt, hot wheels, and anything else that you can shove in a
FREE USPS Priority Mail box.   Again, buyer beware.   Now in defense of the "T-AShirt Guy" whose auction
sparked this, I have bought stuff from them and great quality. And please ntoe
that he does include shipping charge in there of $3.95 (hey right in line with
what I mentioned above!) so here is the bottom paragraph from his
auction:
"Shipping & Payment:
PLEASE USE THE CHECKOUT. When you checkout,
you can choose your method of payment AND your shirt size from kids 6-8 all the
way to adult XLARGE. You can also combine your purchases from our other auctions
or our eBay store and save money. Shipping & Handling in the U.S. &
Canada, $3.95 for the FIRST t-shirt, and $3.00 for each ADDITIONAL t-shirt.
Shipping & Handling to other countries 1 Shirt-$9.60, 2-Shirts $13.60,
3-Shirts $17.85, 4-Shirts $21.80. Orders generally shipped in 5 to 7 working
days. U.S. money orders & checks accepted, (personal checks must clear banks
before we ship, could take 7 to 10 days). JFP International - 1915 Griff Wood
Court - Saint Cloud, FL 34772. "
And the auction: 8015657432 There were no bids, and fellow appears to have a nice array of
AMC stuff, so maybe some of ya'll can quickly snap up some stocking stuffers as
we only have 13 days before Christmas....
