[BaadAssGremlins] 258 ignition upgrade

I am thinking about upgading the ignition system on the 258 in my 77 
amx.  I believe it is the prestolite system.  I've seen ebay adds for 
ignition upgrades for 78 on up, but nothing for 77.  What upgrades 
have others made?  Did you see a noticable improvement?  The engine is 
currently stock, but I do have an offy manifold and a 390 holley which 
I am planning to add in the future, along with some kind of exhaust 
header.  I'm not looking for a tire burner, but something that will 
have some kick.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.
