[BaadAssGremlins] Hal's Horn

I am not familiar with the plain Gremlin steering wheel you describe.
The one with the wing you describe sounds like the standard one used on
later Hornet's. That's the one I replaced with a 3 spoke stainless 73
Hornet "X" wheel. Some where you have a short which is how the horn
works by pushing the wing on either end it grounds the circuit
activating the horn. The horn wire comes through the steering column and
clips to the back of the metal strap on the back of the wing. some where
right there the is a short making the horn blow constantly. Is there a
feeling of spring at each end of the wing? There should be. You may have
the screw at each end of the wing to tight and causing the circuit to be
grounded out. No rush on the parts. I'll E-Mail you the address of my
friends shop to send the parts to.

--- Begin Message --- Doc,
I am trying to change steering wheels in my 70 Gremlin
from a stock plain one to one that has the wing like
horn button and a round Gremlin center piece. I know
similar ones were used in Hornets and my problem is
that when I put the new one on the horn blows
constsntly. Is there a simple fix. I am trying to get
this car looking "pretty" for the wife to drive(so she
says). Thanks.
Plan to get the parts boxed this weekend depending on
weather.
