[BaadAssGremlins] Good AMC show in Virginia ( Gremlin gas cap scores...)

  We had a great turnout at my club's annual show. Over 40 cars 
showed up, from Delaware down to mid-Virginia. Had some VERY special 
cars there,  our Presidents Award went to a '51 Nash Rambler roll-
top convertible, it was stored in a garage for years, in preemo 
condition, beige color, but damn near perfect shape. Great story 
behind it, Movie Director owned it, and 3 other cars, stored them in 
a garage with so many boxes around and over them, no one saw them 
until he died, and the Estate went to sell and clean out his 
holdings, and found them underneath all the boxes. It was super-
clean, and everything worked on it. 
  Other nice cars were a '70 Javelin in Bittersweet orange, a '70 
SS/AMX , white with blue flames( that's right, there were a few 
conversions from '69, this is one of two known surviving 
documented " 1970 " SS's ). Absolutely some very nice AMC iron 
there. Weather threatened but never delivered except for a 2-minute 
light shower all day. 
  Sadly, once again, no Gremlins or Pacers showed up. A couple 
Hornets and Spirits, and nice ones at that, but I guess I will have 
to get off my ass and get mine running so at least ONE can make it 
to the show every year. :) 
  Far as parts score went, I found one dealer with his usual NOS 
piles everywhere, but very little Gremlin, until I nosed around in a 
tail light lense box, found 2 of the stainless steel gas caps in 
good to fair shape, used not NOS. I bought both for $15 each. He 
also had a left front side marker light for the headlight bezel, $10 
NOS. Other parts purchases were 2 '79 AMX bucket seats ( for a '72 
Gremlin project, will the seat brackets fit? Anyone? ), some free-
flow manifolds, and a bunch of '70 Javelin front'end parts for my 
(future) AMX/GT conversion. :) 
  All in all, a really nice day, good parts to be had, and alot of 
fine cars and people to share it all with. Once I get my pictures 
developed, I will share them if anyone wants to see them. Man, I 
loved that Nash!
