Had Gremmie out tonight and something happen that never happen before. I had driven about 20 miles made a couple of stops. I was driving down a four lane about 45 miles an hour and he just quits like you turn the key off. The lights came on the dash and the radio kept playing. It coasted into a stores parking lot. I tried starting him and it turned over but nothing. I open the hood shook the connectors around the distributor and the ignition modular and he started right up. I started home drove him for another 10 miles and he did the same thing. I coasted into another store parking lot. He started right up this time. I didn't even have to open the hood. I drove it a couple of more miles stopped and got gas. It was about 1/2 full. Took the expressway home about 10 miles got him up to 65 ran fine. I brought him home let him set for about an hour he started right up drove him around the block everything seems great. I am going to change the fuel filters even though I changed them at the beginning of the summer. I bought a new ignition box that is the only thing I can think of. You got any suggestions. Either the beginning of last summer or maybe the summer before that I changed about every thing under the hood just because it was getting old. Plugs, wires coil, distributor cap, rotor button, fuel pump. The only thing I can think of he knows that the big car show in the park is next weekend. It seems every year something happens to put me ill at ease with him. Last year it was the gas tank. If anyone knows of anything else I can change out that would be quick and easy let me know. There is a three or four mile road leading into the park. The last think I need is for him to die on that road. I get laugh at enough because I have a Gremlin I don't need him to die on me and have all the other cars have to go around me. LOL. There have been more than one car die on that road. Your Gremlins a he??mines a she all my cars are shes. And it sounds
like you may have have a loose wire or wired the ign. box wrong.
