Sorry I am not familiar with the back of a Gremlin. If the panels are
flat you can buy the cardboard that the door panels are made of from any
local auto upholstery shop a 3'X4' piece cost me 12$. I made all new
door and rear hatch panels from scratch using the old originals as
templates and covered them with vinal that already had 1/4" of foam
attached and glued it on with 3M Trim Adhesive. Some of the plastic on
AMC interiors are made of hard plastic which can be glued and soft
flexible plastic which cannot be glued. I have used what is called "The
Plastic Welding System" which is a 2 part epoxy and JB Weld to glue the
hard plastic with success with both of them.
One of Bart's old arch foes on the AMX Files put me onto the JB Weld, I
tried it and it worked. What was his name Bart? Dillwood? you remember
the ass with the 68-9 AMX.
