I want to comment here on something. I think there would probably have been 3X to 5X more turnout if not for the hurricane. This has affected a whole lot of things. Since I run a sports bar in Houston, you can easily see the effect it had on many games too, with stands 1/2 full, especially for game day openers. At least in a large swath of the country, people at the moment have changed plans from car shows, meets, football games, all sorts of activities as they I guess concentrate on larger things. Speaking of larger things, there have been about 10 conventions cancel in Houston as the George Brown Convention Center downtown is now being used for refugees from Louisiana, 7000 more people in there. And back to football there have been a number of college games already cancelled and postponed until later in the season that is if you could play them at all. LSU for instance, one of the college football powerhouses, is basically a MASH camp right now and the population of Baton Rouge has doubled in a week. Not sure where the Tigers will play, much less the Saints. On the obligatory weak joint part, I told a few fans that "the Saints finally found a way to fill the Superdome" :~P)) Anyways, bottom line is that between this catastrophe of Katrina wiping out several American cities, and the price of gas surging over $3.00 a gallon, many people have changed plans as lives got disrupted one way or another.
