--- Begin Message --- Dropped the AMC rearend off the Gremlin earlier this week (had to grind
off the shock bolts). Took the Ford 9" rearend apart and cleaned the
housing. Loaded both into John's truck and took them to a man who sets
up mainly race cars (Pontiac Fanatic). This gentleman has been around a
looooooooooong time with the drag race/go-cart race scene and is well
aquainted with how things are done properly. His shop is nothing fancy,
but to die for....plenty of room to do what you need to do and find
what you need when you need it. He is going to use the AMC rearend as a
pattern and modify the Ford rearend to fit the Gremlin, including new
axles. John & I will be setting up the gears and putting it all back
together. Next will be the drive shaft. I feel that we are getting
closer to a start up date. I hope it will be running by Oct. 1st so
that I can make the 'Gremlins in Greensboro' show. Keeping my fingers
crossed. ~Lu~
