Well....thats why i'm asking you guys that have done this already(and
know WAY more than i do). I've built alot of fords over the
years..never completely done a "built" AMC myself. All engines have
their own characteristics/neccesary tricks!! I have BARE
castings...2993 , 291C. Will need EVERYTHING done.I can get a COMPLETE
SR INDY kit for $2177..ARP head bolts, indy aluminum roller
rockers,pushrods,studs,etc...etc.... Edelbrocks are much cheaper...BUT
you don't get the additional parts.I am definatley going to drive the
car/race on weekends.I DONT mind a really lumpy cam..rumpda
rump!!Now..i'm going to use Nick Alfanos anti-walk kit (just for
insurance), along with the oil line kit in the lifter valley.Might keep my
904...or use a 727...suggestions?? I can get a PowerGlide with JW
bellhousing from a fellow. Has 200 miles on it,4000 stall(sell the
convertor). Conplete with trans brake and B+M shifter for $900.Whats the
convertor worth to resell?Anyone familiar with the Crane Commander cam?/ I
will have 9.8/1 compression with 2993 (58cc ) heads...unless i use the indy
SR kit..then most likely will be right about...9.5/1! .ANY and ALL
suggestions greatly appreciated!!! Will be a full interior 1972 Gremlin.
Like i said..i can use a 3.55 gear or a 3.91.Have Super Comp
headers,Magnaflow muffs and X pipe(3").Thanks
again,Joe
With your set up do you absolutly haave to have alum heads?how much will it
take to have your heads redone?maybe you can find some 1970 319 castings?2K plus
sounds like a lot to be spending on a street car that will hit the strip a few
times and when it comes to alum heads if i had a motor the way i wanted it,mine
would be Herman Lewis racing heads but then again H.L.R heads are only good for
evil built motors
