You can add them to my folder, Bart. My dad's Gremlin is as nice as my car. That is what 1 year of work and droping all the extra cash i had after paying for living expenses. I am going to put some new Mickey's drag radials on it that will be wider and some skinney's on the front, so it will look more badass......not to mention reduce some drag on the front tires. The car still isn't finished. I still have a few weeks of work to get the car representable and take it to the track to sweep up the trash. Not bad for a 20-year old kid like me.
Thanks for all the great responses!
Here are some more pics of my rear end and me. Also of my dad's Grem. It is show quality as well. It has spanked many Fords, Chevys, and etc. Last time we raced it. It went 7.42 at 91mph, with a 1.65 60-ft. That was with a reringed 390, torker, factory cast pistons. We just took the motor that was a 70' 390, took it apart put new rings, gaskets, a 541 lift cam, did what i call a (Red Neck Port and Polish) with the stock valves. Took it to the track and ran 7.40's which would be about mid 11's on a less than $2000 motor. 904 R.M.Valve Body, 3500 stall. amc 20 with a spool and 410's and Caltracs. With a full interior. 3200 pds
My dad is now getting a little more serious with some indy heads on this 1970 390 He is getting them from a friend of ours that we met at Reynolds, Jim. They are the Dogleg heads and they are working on them. Porting and Polishing them. They are flowing 324 cfms and that is with just a little bit of work. They are not finished with them yet. You can make them flow much more.
He is Porting the heads to match the cam....670 lift on both sides....if i remember right 260 something degrees of duration at 050. with shaved Venolas to make 11 to 1 comp.
This is going to be a very nasty set up. There is no telling what this combination is going to make on the dyno .....but it will make alot. Probably more than 600Hp on pump gas. That should be good for some 10's in the quarter.
Thanks, Jade N.
