It would be great if you could possibly compare the Gremlin tank to a Spirit Kammback which is basically a Gremlin or a regular Spirit. Even though I can't prove it I have a strong belief the Spirit tanks would fit an early Gremlin. Even if new Spirit tanks are not available it gives you a choice of a used newer tank as a replacement if you can find one. "Doc" ------------------------ Yahoo! I will be able to answer that question in a few days. I am going to get my 70 gremlin tomorrow. He took the fuel cell from it so he is giving me a good gremlin gas tank to go with it. I will take the tank out of the hornet I am parting and see exactally what the deal is.Davis

side by side out of a car. All I can tell you from my research is that
they are not the same. I was thinking a Spirit Kammback or a regular
Spirit or an Eagle SX-4 was the same as a Gremlin but I couldn't
determine that either. Maybe Jeff At Kenned American could answer that
question.

Doc, Do you know what the difference is in the 22 gallon tank you put in and the 22 gallon tanks that came in the say 74 Gremlins?
AMC74HORNET@xxxxxxxxx wrote:It was a 3 part kit, a cleaner, an etcher and the sealer. I assume the
etcher was a mild acidic solution as eye and skin protection was
recommended. All I know is I meticulously followed the directions and
the tank leaked and just before I swapped in the new tank a few months
later the sealer had flaked off and clogged the sock on the pickup tube.
I had a crack at the mounting flange for the sender so I did not fill
the tank up completely until I replaced the tank. The old tank was 17
gallons and the new one is 22 gallons. Be careful when tightening the
locking ring for the sender of you might crack the tank. Luckily for me
the 22 gallon tank was still available so I put one in the orange car
too last fall. That tank didn't leak but when I installed the new sender
I found the vent tube in the tank loose so I replaced the tank.

Did the Eastwood kit require you to score the inside with acid
before applying the sealer? Just curious. ~Lu~
