Re: [BaadAssGremlins] Re: Pacers, Pacers, Pacers....

Like you said Lu I don't understand the attitude of some of these AMC
people. Pacers are not on my list of AMC's to own but that doesn't mean
I won't help someone who owns one if I can. Like I said from her post on
the AMX files she seemed really bummed out so I had to try to just steer
here in the right direction to get some help. When it comes to Pacers I
am lost except for the engine and drive train which is basically
standard AMC small car. I sent her your E-Mail addy like you said so
you will probably hear from her. I never give out anybody's addy unless
they say so. It is always nice to hear from someone who has had first
hand experience with a certain cars inherent problems. Fortunately the
previous owners of my new Hornet did next to nothing in the way of
butchering the wiring. I hate futzing with wiring period, never mind
wiring that has been butchered.

--- Begin Message --- Doc, First of all - glad you're back and all went well (for the most
part). Pacer wiring....oh yes, how I remember that problem! I finally
paid a seasoned mechanic (ie, one who used to work on AMC's when they
were new) to figure out the wiring mess. I had turn signal
malfunctions, gauge misreadings, and lighting problems. The mechanic
told me that he practically had to rebuild the entire wiring harness!
I do remember replacing the heater switch with one I found in a junk
Pacer as you cannot buy that design of switch anymore (and it kept
burning out). I may have an extra as I started collected them when I
would run across them. Anyway, please feel free to forward my email
address to this fellow Pacer lover and I will try to help her with
whatever she needs, even if it is just to talk.
As far as other Pacer groups and people not helping her, that is sad.
I can't understand that attitude as we really need to stick together.
Glen Hoag is a good source of Pacer knowledge as he has a few of them.

Anyone know where she can get a copy of one on line or a paper copy?
She didn't get no help from the AMX files or the Pacer group she just
joined. She just moved to the Nevada area and has had her Pacer sent
out to her. The body has been restored and in her own words she has a
beautiful car that dosen't run. It has not been on the road for 10
years and she would lke to get it runnig again. She is the original
owner. I figure Lu might be able to help since she had a Pacer, or
maybe someone has a TSM they could scan the diagram out of.
