Sounds like the best thing about your week was your weather! -Lu- --- In BaadAssGremlins@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, "amc74hornet" <AMC74HORNET@xxxx> wrote: > The threaded cable end of my newly installed shifter in the yellow Hornet stripped makeing the shifter inoperative and me haveing to get the car towed. Luckily I have an "Old Fart's" towing plan through the AARP so it didn't cost anything out of pocket. The guy that installed the shifter fixed it temporarily buy spot welding the locking nuts to the threaded cable end till I get a new cable. I had the guy install new belts in my Malibu and asked what I owed him, he said nothing as he was sorry I had the shifter problem in the other car. He even picked up and delivered both cars from my house. I had the starter replaced in the orange Hornet purely as a preventative maintaince thing. It started 2 times and was parked outside of the garage, when I went to start it to drive it home the starter drive would not engage and the starter just spun. I am going to replace the carb today and wonder if that is going to give me a problem too. I went to get my Malibu inspected and the boss of this other shop jerked me around and wanted me to leave the car for the whole day. I took it to another shop were I know the owner and he said bring it back in an hour and a half. When I did he found out he didn't have the saftey only stickers and tried to print one out of his machine for 20 min., he said can you come back in 2 days? All of a sudden the machine printed out my inspection sticker. It's been one of those weeks for me. I was so disgusted that I took a "ME" day yesterday and rested up and did nothing. I also had trouble with the new cell phone I got for my wife too. After my wife came home the day before yesterday from work she didn't lock the door and all of a sudden the door opens and the old man that lives below me walks in as he went up one flight of stairs to many and thought my apartment was his. How's that for a week?????? Today I will be back to the old grid again. It is only going to be 75 degree's and NO humidity. So how's that for the last 4 day's? > "Doc"
