Re: [BaadAssGremlins] Re: Grille repair/Speaking of grills

I agree with Davis on his use of materials as I use exactly the same
ones. Also as I stated to Davis the other day and he was ahead of me on
this was to glue in a piece of plastic behind the crack to strengthen
it. I have used JB Weld on some things but prefer the Plastic Welding
system as it dries in 15 minutes versus the JB which doesn't completely
cure for 24 hours. Both appear to be quality products but the Plastic
Welding System is more of a specific product for plastic repair.

A 76 Grille on a 73? Excuse me while I hurl.......................ok got that outta my system LOL
Seriously, the best stuff to use is Plastic Weld System. I get mine from Advanced Auto parts store. To prep for paint I sanded it with 400 grit, spotputtied the nicks, more sanding with 400, prime it with plastocote sandable primer filler, sand it again with 400, more spot puttieing, more sanding with 400. NOw you are ready to paint!
Took me over 6 hours.

The grill looks like new, excellent job. How did you cure the paint problem you had the other day when you primed it?
