Re: [BaadAssGremlins] Open Fire

1972 saw some changesd for Hot wheels, this was the first year the buttons were no longer available. And now all models were made in Hong Kong to control costs (gee, sounds like 2004 no?). Mattel added a number of new items that appealed to Hot Wheels collectors like Farbs, in the shape of peop,e called fantastic Car Kooks, Hot shots had Rip Fire motors on dragsters too. And Chopcycles were motorcycles that were powered like Sizzlers! The usual prices for out of package, but in good condition Open Fire Gremlins are $50-$100. If still in original blister pack I have seen them reach $300 among collectors. The most I paid for one still in blister pack was at a swap meetand bought it for $150. Very hard to find toy car after 30+ years. I didn't see the one on ebay so could not comment on it! Still, it you have a sharp eye, you can still find used toys like this at swap meets, antique centers, trade shows and also garage sales. If you ever come across a Ed Shaver AMX below let me know, they command about $4000 in mint condition.....
