Re: Alright what the heck tranny do i have?

Davis, you are correct, and I may add thatmany speed equipment parts like shift kits are 1/2 the price of same for 727s. The 904 is a really great performer on low end. I have one behind my 350+hp 401LAPD interceptor in my 68 Rebel convertible 'Machine' now for 127,000 miles withzero problems, and some of those are hard miles. So consider your options with the 904, a lot of Mopar people also like them because of the low end applications.

Also,  Why are you gonna junk the 904? It is a good tranny and can be built to take the abuse of a stout 401. The 904 has a lower 1st gear and is a lighter tranny.

no such animal a 994 theres the 904 and 998 i think you already have a 904
Bart

I keep hearing other amcers saying my stockv8 gremmie's auto tranny
is a 998.  i thought it was a 994?

The car is a factory built v8 with auto.

Whats the scoop?  I was thinking of junking it if it was a 904 and
going to a 998.  That wouldnt make sense if it already is.

Anyone?
