Re: [BaadAssGremlins] 6-8 Cyl Crossmembers

The cross members are definitly different. The 6cyl one only has one hole for motor mount, and the mount pad is  different. Thats not to say they can;t be adapted, and yes the motor plates are quite different. AHHHH.... I just re read your statement again......my bad, you are correct............forget what I was saying, its early in the morning.

Like I stated in an earlier post 6 & 8 cyl. crossmenbers for our cars are the same it is only the welded on engine stands that different between the 6 & 8 cyl engines. As far as engine plates go ones other than the Gremlin, Hornet, Spirit, and Concord are taller but can possibly be used. Rubber and urathane motor mounts are readily availble at reasonable prices. Engine plates are avaliable from Galvins Rambler seperately or with one of their converted crossmember kits. A friend with a 6 cyl. Javelin put a V8 in it by makeing adapter plates to bolt it to the 6 cyl. crossmember. He also put a 258 from a Concord in a V8 74 Javelin to make it drivable. I have that Javelin in my garage now. To bad my son has decided to part it out.
