Starting in 72 AMC started using Mopars auto trans,the 727,904 and 998 your gremlin you just yanked outta the woods has a 904 and the only difference between a AMC type mopar trans and the reg Mopar ones are the bellhousings if i were you i would have the 904 rebuilt with hipo internals and maybe a aftermarket convertor bcuase tho the 727 is a good trans it robs like 20% of your H.P.

Will the bolt pattern on the AMC 6 cylinder fit the V-8s? Will it fit 
any other Mopar type engine?
