RE: [BaadAssGremlins] Re: do you HAVE to have the correct motormounts for a V8 Gremlin?

I have to disagree here, Doc. I had a 70 Rebel SST with a 232-6. It had the (getting rare) 2bbl manifold and carb. I wouldn't consider it a slug. I once laid a peg-leg "blackie" 145ft (counted using my own feet.. size 12). Mind you, I was coming off an ice patch, I was 17 yrs old, and I revved the hell out of it to do so. That little engine was STOUT, I put it thru the paces many many times. Nevertheless, that 6cyl could push that big car up to 100mph with not too much effort. Unofficially, I got around 16-17 sec in a quarter. Mind you, if you put that same 6cyl in say a Grem, it would be a completely different game because of the weight. Man I miss that car... lotta memories.

I think the book rating for the little 232-6 I had (with 2bbl) was something in the range of 145 horsies.. nothing compared to the mill in my Gremmie though.
That Gremmie of mine is almost scary to drive... can't believe I got rubber into third once.. and its not even tuned up properly yet, LOL!

It's hard to believe but the Javelin is considered a larger car than the
Hornet/Gremlin/Concord/Spirit cars. Very few people that have these cars
(Javelin/Reblel/Ambo/Matador)have 6 cyl's and are looking for a V8 swap
as a lot of us all are. I would say 90% of these "Big Car's" so to
speak were made with V8's. If they weren't I could only imagine what a
slug it must be to drive a big car with a 6 cyl.
