Bart, I don't know if this will help, but I have a related question and it may help us both if we get an answer. I bought a V8 crossmember out of a 66 Rambler American as well as the motor mount brackets that came with it. The 360 engine out of the 77 Matador had motor mount brackets on it as well. These sets of motor mounts are different. The pair from the 66 are not as 'tall' as the ones from the 77. I know both sets of brackets will fit into the V8 crossmember and bolt onto the 360, but which pair will work best putting the 360 into a Gremlin? Will the difference in height make that much of a difference using the V8 (I am thinking of hood clearance)? -Lu- --- In BaadAssGremlins@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, <badass73gremlin@xxxx> wrote: > Folks i am finally getting back to building my gremlin after the Hurricane mess and have a question concerning the factory steel plate motor mounts that came with all 66-69 Rambler Americans,Rogues & S/C Ramblers 70-77 Hornets,72-76 Gremlins,78-79 Concords and 79 Spirits.i have a V8 crossmember in my 73 that started life as a 232 I6 but no steel motor mounts that were special to that crossmember.can i get away with using ones from a reg V8 pass.
