I am just as shocked as you are, but it is nice to know that a rusty old knocking AMC can command that much money! *snicker* I agree with Doc that it is around a $500 - $700 car max. There is just not enough interest or available parts to support much more. I'm glad that someone feels it worthy, although I would (and could) spend my money on an AMC *whatever model* in better condition for that amount of money. It gives me the idea that I need to sell my '74 Gremlin body and find something better to stick this built 360 inside especially if it will go for that much money!
