Re: [BaadAssGremlins] FW: HPD AMC Gremlins, circa 1978

Hi not sure what the question originally was, but if HPD stands for Houston Police, yes, Houston Police used Gremlins as cop cars in 1970-72, but only as parking detail downtown. Not the regular cop cars they used including Plymouth, Dodge and AMC. The Gremlins were used for issuing tickets downtown only. Sort of like the small Cherokees are used now for same. Anyone visiting Houston can look up the Houston Police Museum off Aldine in NE Houston near Bush. It's where I got the idea to turn my 71 Matador two door with 14K miles into a Houston police cruiser, but backed off when it finally sold after 6 years. It's still here and the fellow is making payments on it, $100 a month. Down to about $1500 or so, sort of like the Arkansas Lottery, you win $3 million and get $1 a year for 3 million years. :~P))>

If anybody can answer this.......it would be Eddie. I lived in Houston  for a couple of years (74 to 76) and I don't recall seeing any HPD Gremlins.
