[BaadAssGremlins] Re: 8 3/4 seal replacement

Hi Joe, some people simply like to use those, just like some love Detroit Lockers and Ford
9 inch. This is file off my site:

http://www.planethoustonamx.com/main/chrysler_8_34_rearends.htm

the fellow who was looking...Bob emailed me back that:

"Eddie, Thx for the response but I think I found waht I needed on the
Cuda-Challenger.com forum. Regards, Bob"

so sort of moot point....with the amount of emails I get on this end, sometimes hard to
keep up, and that one was only 2 1/2 weeks old! So sometimes I am Rambler slow....other
times Rambler slow without rims, tires, engine and trans...anyways, feel free to keep the
thread going if anyone thinks it will benefit others!

What AMC used an 8 3/4 Mopar rear end? I have one in my 69 AMX but it was a
race car and the previous owners evidently trashed the axles in the AMC 20.

Bob below is looking for some advise on a seal replacement on his Mopar. Since a
number of AMCers use this type rear end I thought I would toss this out here and
please feel free to comment if you can help and thanks to all who might, be sure
to also copy your reply to Bob who would appreciate it also.

Eddie,
I have an anoying leak at the pinion seal on my 73 'Cuda, 742 case that
I run in Open Road Racing. Its not bad, but I would like to fix it. I have the
seal and am wondering if it is an "easy" on car fix of simply removing the
retaining nut, pulling the flange/cover, pulling the yoke out and replacing the
seal and then reassemble or is a "hard" fix of pulling the axles, removing the
whole 3rd member and going at it off car?? Are there any little nuances I need
to know or other things I should look for/ check while Im in there?? Thx, Bob
