[BaadAssGremlins] Re: carb suggestions

OK, here's another opinion. None of them are going to be cheap. From my limited experience with different carbs, the Edelbrock seems to be the "easiest" to set up and the most stable out of the box. I've had trouble keeping the holley tuned and stopping leaks, both into the bore and out of the bowls. So I have no holleys on anything now. I've had good luck with the Demon (Barry Grant) when I carefully set everything up to factory recommendation before install. I'm running a Mighty Demon on my 72 Gremlin X 304 and a Street Demon on my 69 Mach 1 (351W). Had some serious tuning problems on the Mustang because of some of the "help" I had. But since I pulled the carb, reset to install specs and then tuned it's been great. I also like the looks of the Demon on top of the motor :-)

Looking for suggestions for a carburetor for my 77 Hornet. 360 c.i.d., Comp cams magnum street/strip cam/lifter set and Edelbrock Torker intake. Have spent several years piecing this together. Chief use will be summer cruising and occaisional strip outings. Had nothing but headaches getting and keeping my Holley carb adjusted on 65 mustang "back in the day" and have always heard that edelbrock carbs are easier to adjust and will run with minimal adjustment "right out of the box". Problem is, as always, budget.... Summit racing sells an 800 cfm street/strip carb that sells new for what I would pay for a refurbished Edelbrock Thunder carb. Any thoughts? How about you, Doc, if anyone knows Hornets, its you!
