Re: [BaadAssGremlins] Brakes

Yeah, most times my store can figure it out as they know she is a "one owner" but I may have to get new spindles from a set up I know is correct. Also rying to figure out the calipers as We say they are pined Bendix and this doesn't help they say. Might be easier to go hit my salvage yard that I know has a couple concord setups. Just trying to save $$$$$ and stay on the road. Put over 2000 into the 258 last year and now this economy hits. Oh well at least I am a Gremlin owner(3...1970/1974/1976) may have to sell the 76 to pay for the 74.

That tells me they must have the wrong part number for that rotor. A definite mixup. YOu may be able to still get bearings to fit. YOu need to take the bearings and a rotor in and have trhem adapt them to the bigger bearing of the rotor.
It's always a pain in the Keister with our cars.

Thanks Davis but I'm reusing the same bearings as they are still good, just repacked them. The seals for these is about an eigth inch wider then the one for the old discs. I will see if there ar other bearings as you suggest though.

Hal,
They could have the wrong bearings in them. I would bring both sets to a competent auto parts store that can  crossreference bearing numbers and get you fixed up.

Guys and gals,
I have been redoing my front end on my 74 Gremmy X and got to the disc brakes that I put on. When the new disc's arrived and I tried to install they were a little too large for the spindles. They had some play in them were the others didn't. Now the new discs,EXPENSIVE! , match the old ones in parts number so I am confused.
Can anyone help me here? I need to replace the old discs and i need to get my baby on the road.
Hal
