 Thanks. No no way to add expantion controll. It is just brittle thin plastic. The welding beefs up the area well and I can also add plastic weld to known offending spots.
 I am actually going to start offering to restore grilles for people. This set up works really well. I have 3 other grilles here to restore at the moment.
