Lu mentioned ebay the other day and I replied with
some of the scams you commonly see. This, while not car related is a good
example. You get these scams, and someone not knowing what to do might click on
the 'respose required' which then in turn, you put in your 'password' and user
id' of which once done, guess what, suddenly scams start appearing under YOUR
NAME as you just gave away your ID.
If you have a good firewall, it usually strips the
hyperlinks and banners and shit scammers steal to put in these scams however.
Some do, some don't.
For what it is worth, these are really clever, and
many times, a person new to ebay will indeed try to 'make things right' thinking
they screwed up in some auction, so there you go, more stolen IDs.
This one made me laugh however, as the last thing I
would want to do is move to the Fatherland, yah! Secondly, the last time I was
inside a place like that I was burglurizing it, hauling off silver, jewelry,
electronics and whatever else that could be pawned off, so don't want me in that
place shown in auction!
One more tip for those of you in Bart's group here
who ebay. If you ever, even for a moment, think you might have just signed away
your password on ebay, simply quickly go into the SITE MAP at the top of the
page, and it takes seconds to change your password!
