Bart,

Yeah, I've got one hell of a learning curve going.  :)
 I don't know how long the car was driven with that
non-grille grill, but i'm hoping not much.  The car
came into my possession in December and I stopped
driving it as soon as the temps were above 65, for
fear I'd overheat the engine.  

At least with the ghost grille I can start driving it
again.  YAY!

AAAA its a ghost grill lol I'd maybe media blast all
the paint off or 
use  
some brake fluid to clean off he paint and hit it
silver or with chrome  
paint.Also i'm surprised you didn't have any cooling
probs with that 
old grill  yikes.
