Lu i knew what you had planned on your 360,since your obviously mechanically inclined you just needed a longblock to rebuild www.fastengineparts.com has total rebuild kits with .30 over pistons for the AMC 360 and 401

I think a couple of you guys have the wrong idea about the 360 engine
that I acquired for my Grem. It is a junker...I bought it knowing
that it needed rebuilding. It probably sat up for years in that
Matador before someone around here decided to clean out their back
yard. The engine was not only covered with leaves, acorns, & twigs,
but animal bones were also found on top of it when I got it. I only
wanted a buildable block, not a running engine, so I am not planning
on using the rocker arms, rods, pistons, valve springs, etc. They
will all be replaced. My main concern is that it is locked up.
Probably a blown head gasket is my guess, I hope nothing worse.
Tonight I will remove the rocker arms & pushrods and see if I can get
the crankshaft to turn. Wish me luck! -Lu-
