Re: [BaadAssGremlins] Fw: Matador Machine Scoop cut in 1/2 shipped down under

Ih duh. The box I buy for these is about 30"X24"x24"
The scoop itself is
28" from side to side
22" from front to back and
5" from top to bottom.

But with this size there is enough room for me to load it with paper to
protect it. But it also leaves me room to ship it as is, or cut the box down
without sacrificing the intergrity of the structure. And still leaves me
room to pack it in so as to not get damaged.

The postal places were really anal about the size. I can ship this box,
uncut, for instance to Minnesota or California for about $22-$27. But they
have gotten really restrictive about size. I used to use my gun boxes to
ship out the front stainless spoilers I sell. One day, one of the postal
ladies got out the tape and slapped me with a oversize charge, which was $8.
So I cut the boxes down to almost spoiler size now.

The big 71-74 AMX spoilers I sell, the boxes to ship them are large. One is
12X12X12 the other piece is 12X12X48. so put together it is about six feet
high. About $40 to ship, depending on where, and can't ship to Canada as it
is over $250, so i ask Canooks who want one to give me a US mailing address,
I ship it there (usually a P.O. Box or friends houes just this side of
border) and they save more in shipping than spoiler costs.

So to answer John's question before I forget what the hell I was even
talking about when this letter started, some boxes I use are large to
protect the item. John's box, which he recently ordered two NOS Oil Filters,
I took a hammer to them first to make sure they fit in the matchbox I shoved
them in.

Not a small scoop for the Machine! Big & flat! And again, they postal places
wanted over $150 to ship it if I had it uncut, and the box was as damned
flat as I could get it without damagint the high point of scoop, which is
the tach area.
