I mentioned that in some facebook post. You have to remember a few years ago 
AMC collector Ed Hooper who died up near Dallas. When he passed away his 
family had zero interest in his collection of 60-100+ AMCs and tossed them 
onto craigslist, many of them Javelins but Matador photos, or Gremlins with 
Hornet name, they didn't know, or care, about them, just get them off 
property so can sell properties also. So I quickly flew up there, documented 
the cars in Fate, TX, and started running 300+ ads on craigslist and 
contacting many of the national car rag editors I know to "put the word out" 
for people to "save the cars" before hauled off to scrap.

I didn't know it would go sort of viral and most of the cars sold except six 
of them. Regardless of that I would guess the sellers of that AMX in 
Savannah just want to get it out of there at any cost, don't know, maybe 
don't care much about it except to sell it. Hope it ends up at good AMC 
home! For those of you wonder what we blabbering about, see the original

Classic muscle car re-engineered for racing, appropriate for upgrade or
restoration to street vehicle. This automobile is part of an estate sale.
The owner operated a well respected repair shop that specialized in Jeeps
and AMC automobiles in the Savannah area. He raced the AMX and upgraded the
transmission to a Chevy Power Glide. To accommodate the transmission the 390
engine was exchanged for a small block, possibly a 302 with a high
performance Cam. The car is in running condition. My brother-in-law,
upgraded the auto for racing purposes and then hoped to restore it to street
car standard, but illness prevented much progress in that regard. Seats are
available, as are aluminum rims. The car can be transferred via Georgia bill
of sale as the title is unavailable. Georgia does not reissue titles for
vehicles over 20 years old. Please check your own state's department of
