Supposedly, Fiat, doesn't want the liability of a drivable car, as they have paid millions for some who have escaped and been crashed by idiot-owners.  But it would be "easy" to "immobilize" a viper without crushing it--just put in a "tower-of-power" that would discourage driving,--certainly it'd be UNABLE to over-drive its brakes IF it was ever driven.  Have the liability rest with the present owner of the car.  I think the REAL reason Fiat is crushing vipers--vipers that could FUND new Fiats by having enthusiasts sponsor them, even inside a museum they are never going to leave, is because the Viper makes Fiat executives JEALOUS (Fiat DOES own not only Ferrari, Maserati, Lancia, and Alfa-Romeo, but Fiat had made some "hot" Fiats in the Past), and Fiat wants no examples of what they, under Socialism, are UNABLE to overcome, even though Ferrari, & Maserati are "doing well" vis-a-vie other sports-luxury makes.
