I know AMC wasn't a brand until about 1958 or so, But it was a Manufacturer since 1954. So weather they were called Hudson, Nash, Rambler, Eagle, Jeep, or AM General I'd love to know how many were built in total.
==============================

American Motors was founded in 1954, but didn't use "AMC" as a brand name until 1967, when the Rambler name was dropped from the Ambassador and Marlin models. "Rambler" was only used on the American for 68, and the American/Rogue was simply known as the "Rambler" in 1969 -- the last year Rambler was used as a brand or model name in the US. AMCs continued to wear the Rambler brand name overseas, so you could get a Rambler Javelin in Australia. It was used until sometime in the mid 70s in Mexico, then dropped in favor of VAM (the joint venture company that produced AMCs in Mexico).

On page 128 of the "American Motors Family Album" (1976 version) there is a photo of the last Rambler coming off the assembly line. The caption says that from early 1950 through the 69 model year 4,204,925 Rambler models were produced. That figure presumably excludes the 67+ Marlin and Ambassador and all 68-69 models that didn't bear the Rambler name (except the Rogue). Well, that's everything BUT AMC branded vehicles (from 1958-66 all AMC products were Ramblers. that 4 mil+ figure includes 50-57 Nash and Hudson Ramblers as well).
